Mobile Technology Helps Healthcare

28/10/2009

Companies like TeliaSonera, which provides telecommunication services in 20 countries including the Nordic and Baltic countries, and emerging markets in Eurasia like Russia and Turkey, have launched products and services that bring social benefits and improve healthcare services - and at the same time, reduce technology's environmental impact thanks to sustainable mobile communications.

One example is "Notification', a TeliaSonera service that uses mobile telephones to track patient care. Doctors and other medical providers log treatment progress using mobile technology, and collect data from patient charts. Likewise, a patient's relatives can also receive information about care routines. Mobile technology also allows hospitals to analyse data to help schedule staff.
